When It's Springtime in Alaska...

Well, the title is a bit misleading. It isn't springtime yet, technically, but the return of the sun just makes it feel so springlike (the temperature does not). With the return of the sun I am falling in love all over again with my Arctic home. Several big things have happened - but top two of concern? I got a decent camera, so no more relying on my cell phone for pictures, and I got a cat! Yup, I couldn't go any longer without the monstrous menagerie, so I've got a kitten with the nerdiest name I could muster - Sonic Screwdriver.

He is spoiled so rotton the little baby. It is kind of ridiculous. He has cat toys, a giant cat tower, a kitty cube, a heated sleeping mat... yeah I know. I'm spoiling him, but I don't really care.

Here he is just chilling on his tree. He loves sleeping on the platforms, although a nap can be had anywhere in his opinion.

And with all his toys, do you know what his absolute favorite thing is? Pencils. He'll steal any pencil that he can reach. So the older he gets the more ingenious I'll need to be.

And then there is the entire reason that I got a bigger and better camera - the northern lights! They have been out the last five nights in a row, three of those nights I went out and took shots. I'm not the best (it can be quite hard to focus when it is forty below!) but each time I get a few nice shots. Here are my favorites.
