Calendars Old and New

So a few months ago I talked about the fact that I was changing my calendar set up. I think that the new layout has been wildly successful in that it basically functions as a giant lesson plan that everyone can see.
Here is the jist of the board, there is a section on the left hand side with jobs. Since I have seven students I have seven jobs, keeps everyone happy. A run-down of what you are looking at:
Number: The number of the week, we identify it by name every day and then count it out with our fingers, and occasionally other objects. We work on the numbers one - twelve because those are the numbers that esablish a pattern in future counting.
Letter: Here you see that the letter is H, we identify the name and sound of the letter every day, to reinforce sound there are cards with words that begin with that letter. We use these words to build our vocabulary as well.
Amazing Words: The bus and boat at the top are in our Amazing Words spot, these are words that relate to the unit we are studying, in this case transportation.
Color: A new color every other week since there are only so many colors to learn in preschool.
Shape: Same issue as with the color.
The Pattern Train: The Pattern Train picks up a new passenger every day and the kids try to identify the pattern. They are really good at this now! We are going to try ABC patterns starting next week!
Social Skills: I have a set of cards that teach important social aspects in the Inupiaq culture, but a social skill every week can apply in every classroom!
The Weater Station: Discontinued in my room because my kids have said snow pretty much every day since September. However, I think this is a good exercise somewhere with varied weather!
Special Words: That bright pink area is usually empty unless there is something special to announce.
Rhyme Time: Just a place to work on various rhymes, my kids have become quite the rhyming squad this semester, especially when we were working on Dr. Seuss!
There is still a little white space where they can work on writing, plus I can fit books there to read after the calendar routine.

Any questions?
